When video cameras became accessible to normal families in the 1980’s, Dovid’s family got one for Channukah. It was huge, recorded to VHS, and it was great. Music videos of lip sync battles ensued, then narrative tales.  He never stopped telling stories.

Dovid studied marketing and social media from the time social media began in the late 90’s from Ivy League NYC dorm rooms with the internet relay chat (IRC). Over the years his passion for design grew, beyond media production to fabrication as well and larger spaces.  He’s designed restaurants, stores, and have never stopped helping people solve problems through stories; documentaries, creative signage, national outreach campaigns, narratives, and even tackling supercars.

Years of design schooling, creative ventures and many brands later, he realized he loved telling stories and embarked on a mission to offer David Jacob.  It grew morphed, and has become a leading creative powerhouse.

Dovid is a firm believer in both volunteering and community involvement, with beneficiaries including the Maine Jewish Film Festival, The Portland Children’s Film Festival, The Jewish Community Alliance, the Graduation Task Force for the city of Portland, ME, the Community Leadership Engagement Coalition, The East End Community School, Breakwater School and numerous pro bono video projects.

He is a proud ’97 Horatio Alger National Scholar, studied theater at NYU in the experimental theater wing of Tisch, and Media Studies, Design and production at the University of Southern Maine.

He is married to his high school sweetheart, who he has created with and loved for over 23 years.
